Washington State Affirms Discrimination

My first report by email was not correct. Washington State's Supreme Court upheld the position that the legislature there could restrict marriages to DOMA-style one-man/one woman.

Analysis of the majority and dissenting opinions to follow.

they hang their hat on the points
1) that gays are not a suspect class (deprived minority)
2) if we dont let only straits marry=procreate, the human race will cease to exist.

It's scant comfort to me that it was so close. Throwing this back to the pro-same-sex-marriage forces to beg and persuade the legislature is pretty cowardly. I'm with you in thinking they were wrong on their points. See other posts here.
