While I breath, I hope -- South Carolina's motto via an old Roman cliché — may be the theme of quite a few bloggers today. Wonkette (a.k.a. D.C.'s Ana Maria Cox) announced that she's quitting the bytes bit with her contract for her second book.
She is a great Web log chef, mixing politics, gossip and more...and she's a good writer. Her Dog Days hits the stores this week. We can assume it will become a movie.
Now, she signed with Riverhead Books for a non-fiction political activist work.
The similarly sensationalist David Lat, Underneath Their Robes blogger takes over. Alex Pareene joins as co-editor.
So, national politics (and sex) equals a 288-page book, plus a contract for a second. If you calculate the equivalent of a Boston blog on a narrow topic, with no gossip to speak of, you'd get what, a tract, a brochure? Hmmm. Spero.
