Big up to the Christian Civic League of Maine (CCL) for promoting Maine Won't Discriminate's fund raiser. Fans of Lily Tomlin (and equality and fair treatment) can look for the details as they appear.
I guess this qualifies as a scoop. The announcement isn't even on MWD's site yet.
You can see the announcement here. You can also check out the CCL's aspersions on Unitarians right below.
Among the amusing aspects are that MWD is bringing "stars from the big city to dazzle our unsuspecting locals" and that "the public will be served 'hors dÂoeuvres' and drinks and will be given the honor of meeting Tomlin in person – all for the incredibly cheap price of $150 - which is just about the weekly grocery bill for a family of four in Maine! No, siree - no elitism here!"
Well, I guess a single star is not a parade, rather just a point of light. Also, is the point of putting hors dÂoeuvres in quotes to indicate that this is fancy talk? Maybe fundies use a different term, certainly not canapes.
I do hope that the CCL brings in a few more unsuspecting locals. One ringy-dingy.
