Yet another same-sex marriage crusader couple was denied this week. In a sad ending to her struggle for equal rights, Marilyn Maneely died legally single, despite 13 committed years with Diane Marini in New Jersey.
While New Jersey's Supreme Court thinks about getting around to hearing Lambda Legal's suit on the matter, Maneely died of ALS. It has not even set the oral argument days.
Like the lethargic supermarket checkout clerk, the justices will be there all day and the next day. They can take their time.
Unlike California, New Jersey seems to want the legislature to take leadership.
